Almost Time For Their Day

Mother's Day is an American invention, created to celebrate and honor mothers and motherhood. In different parts of the world, it is celebrated in different times of the year. Either in March, April, or May. Mother's are of course extremely important people and figures, for they are the givers of life and the caretakers of the people we have become today.
Can you believe that the first Mother's Day was celebrated in 1908? It was by a woman who was holding a memorial for her mother. A great way to start something that is important in our society today, to show thanks and give appreciation for the hard working mothers of today. We, as children of women, do not want to forget how hard it has become for some people to be a mother now a days. I myself as a mother of two kids face challenges that test my strengths.
Yes, it is true that a business journal mentioned in the early 1920s that this was a holiday that could be exploited. Starting off with flowers being the traditional gift for Mother's Day, it has become custom to also bare other types of gifts for our mothers. It is the thought that counts, is a commonly used term for the gift giving holidays.
At my shop, Pamela Bead Jewelry, I offer simple gifts for any mother that will simply say, "I love you mom." Glass pearl beads, ceramic beads, and glass beads are one of many choices you have with me. Necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are some of the jewelry items that mother's like to pride themselves with when stepping out of the house. We all know that women, as a whole, love to look good and express our fashion sence.

Have a nice Mother's Day, if you haven't done so already!

Checked In Today! Guild Weekly Update 4-20-13

Your Guild at Work for You
What is new at the Checked In Today! Guild for the week of April 20, 2013?

> You will notice several spots in the newsletter that draw attention to Marketing Opportunities available to all. I am trying to find these as I travel about the guilds and web to provide you guys with opportunities to get more exposure. As well as I am trying to link this blog to your items to give you some of those wonderful backlinks. If you have some that I need to know about, please send them to me, so I can include them. Eventually, I will set up a little section on here for them.

-- New Members - We want to welcome the following new members to the Checked In Today! Guild

Farm Country Kitchen Napkins Picnic BBQ Patio Table Setting Set of 4

Turquoise Stretch Bracelet, 8"

- The Checked In Today! Guild is 188 strong.- Please remember to check in daily using the Check in button on the My Artfire page. It is on the left hand side and is blue until you click it, then it turns orange. It is good for 24 hours and is part of this guild's membership requirements.
If you wonder why our numbers seem to never move, it is because we will have 10 new members and then seven who never check back in again and disappear. I remove them after they have been gone a week or so. I recently needed to remove a few members who have not checked back in since they joined. I am not sending warnings to folks.

-- New Collections-
Here are the latest collections from your fellow guild members. Take a few moments to rate, comment and share these great collections. Making collections is time consuming and the more views these artists get, the more exposure your guild and your studio gets.
