How to Succeed on Artfire

Welcome to selling on Artfire. Here is some information to get you started on your way to successful selling.

On Artfire, you are found mostly through Internet searches that is why Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is critical to your success. If you are not familiar with search engines and how to use keywords, here are a couple guides that you should read.

Introduction to SEO

How to improve your SEO on Artfire

SEO Keyword Research

Your first impression will be the title of your item, so you need to load up that title with your keywords and repeat those keywords again in the first paragraph of your descriptions. When you title your item, try to think like a buyer and title it what YOU would use to look for when looking for a product.

Use rich, descriptive content to engage Google in your product. The longer the description, the better. Yes, it can seem daunting, but there is a workshop that will help you write better copy.

The Copy Writing Workshop will help with your descriptions.

Your pictures will need to sell your items since people can't pick them up and touch them.  Here is a terrific help guide that Tony wrote, Photography Q&A.

Remember that it may take a while for google to crawl your shop here.Promote, promote, promote.  Facebook, StumbleUpon, Pinterest, Wanelo, Twitter, join a guild,  pass out business cards, etc.

It's a lot of work, but you can do it!

If you have any questions, be sure and post them in the Peer Help section.  You'll get great responses from the experienced sellers here.

Best of luck with your new venture!

PS- Don't forget to go through the help guides.  There's a wealth of information there.

Checked in Today! Guild Weekly Update 7-20-13

Your Guild at Work for You
What is new at the Checked In Today! Guild for the week of July 20, 2013?

Helping One Another

Before I get to the newsletter, I want to let you know that one of our guild members has been involved in a horrific motorcycle accident, and she has been quite injured. Kathy of Kathrynwateenamels has a long road to recovery, so if you could keep her in your thoughts, that would be wonderful. Linda of Steider Studios has been caring for Kathy’s garden and minding her store. If you would like more information on how you can help Kathy, contact Linda, and she will be happy to fill you in.

> You will notice several spots in the newsletter that draw attention to Marketing Opportunities available to all. I am trying to find these as I travel about the guilds and web to provide you guys with opportunities to get more exposure. As well as I am trying to link this blog to your items to give you some of those wonderful backlinks. If you have some that I need to know about, please send them to me, so I can include them. Eventually, I will set up a little section on here for them.

-- New Members - We want to welcome the following new members to the Checked In Today! Guild

- The Checked In Today! Guild is 196 strong.- Please remember to check in daily using the Check in button on the My Artfire page. It is on the left hand side and is blue until you click it, then it turns orange. It is good for 24 hours and is part of this guild's membership requirements.

If you wonder why our numbers seem to never move, it is because we will have 10 new members and then seven who never check back in again and disappear. I remove them after they have been gone a week or so. I recently needed to remove a few members who have not checked back in since they joined. I am not sending warnings to folks. Those who have not come back into their studios over 1 week without a vacation notice are being removed from the guild. They may rejoin when they are able to commit to checking in.

-- New Collections-
Here are the latest collections from your fellow guild members. Take a few moments to rate, comment and share these great collections. Making collections is time consuming and the more views these artists get, the more exposure your guild and your studio gets.
